I’ve always had a passion for excellent craftsmanship. 

My career in the industry began when I was an apprentice carpenter at the age of 16. I was lucky to learn a craft passed on from a lineage of tradespeople committed to the principles of good construction and a hard work ethic. 

In my 20’s, I decided I wanted to turn my passion for good design and inherent understanding of what it takes to create great spaces into a business. So I became a licensed builder and set up Emerath Builders in 2009. 

Since then I’ve worked with amazing people on small, design-focused building projects that have inspired me and fuelled my keen interest in applying current technology and new materials to traditional building methods. 

I’ve been lucky to work alongside and learn from some great architects, builders and tradespeople. And I’ve learnt that the more I’m exposed to really good ideas, the more refined I’ve become, and I still get surprised about what is possible throughout the creative process on a really good project. 

What drives me is a strong desire to deliver the best possible outcome to every building project Emerath works on. So I only recruit people who have the energy and capacity get the job done.
